As part of the 2007 Children In Need Campaign, staff members of BBC Scotland decided to abseil down the side of the new Pacific Quay headquarters. Over two Saturday's, 70+ BBC Scotland staff and friends descended the heights of the building with scenic views of the Clyde and the SECC under the watchful eye of the staff from Smith Services Ltd - The Rope Access Specialists. Taking place on Saturday, November 3 and Saturday, November 24, the event took both full days to complete and get the numbered of scheduled dare devils over the edge and safely to the bottom. Legendry Children In Need Icon Pudsey Bear even made an appearance, much to the amusement of the passing crowds as the infamous yellow bear scaled the building. Everyone involved in this years event raised a stunning total of £14, 721.
Well done to everyone who took part, and thanks to all the staff at the BBC and the guys from Smith Services Ltd. http://www.bbc.co.uk/pudsey/games/blog_week1.shtml
